New collaboration for 5G radio standalone module protocol test
Anritsu and MediaTek are pleased to announce their collaboration on verification of Protocol Conformance Tests for 5G New radio (NR) Standalone (SA) mode devices. The tests happen to be verified with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 chipset on Anritsu’s 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR.
The Conformance Tests are defined by 3GPP TS 38.523 and also have been validated on multiple Sub-6 GHz Frequency Range 1 (FR1) frequency bands.
“Anritsu is constantly on the support our development project with leading-edge test solutions” said Mr. JS Pan, Gm of Wireless Communication System and Partnership at MediaTek. “We are pleased to determine our joint efforts include verification of industry standard tests for 5G NR.”
“Our collaboration with MediaTek has progressed and strengthened with 5G NR” said Mr. Tsutomu Tokuke, Anritsu's Vice President. “Together, we are proud to help the mobile industry achieve its aggressive targets for bringing new 5G NR devices to promote quickly.”
The 5G NR Mobile phone Test Platform ME7834NR is registered with both Global Certification Forum (GCF) and PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB) as Test Platform (TP) 251 for 3GPP-based Protocol Conformance Tests (PCT) and Carrier Acceptance Tests (CAT) of cellular devices incorporating Multiple Radio Access Technologies (RAT). It supports 5G NR both in Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes in addition to LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and W-CDMA. When combined with Anritsu's new OTA chamber MA8171A and RF converters, the ME7834NR covers the sub-6 GHz and millimeter wave (mmWave) 5G frequency bands.
